Stefan Karl Stefansson has died after battling aggressive bile duct cancer for two years his wife, Steinunn Olina, confirmed last night.
The actor's spouse, with whom she shares four children, said he did not want a funeral and instead wanted his ashes to be scattered in secrecy.
Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, she said: “Per Stefan's wishes, there will be no funeral. His earthly remains will be scattered in secrecy in a distant ocean.
“Stefan Karl's family wants to express their gratitude for the support and warmth received in recent years.

“And to express their deepest sympathy to the many friends and fans of Stefan Karl.”
She also shared a touching statement with 14,000 Facebook followers, writing: “My beloved, Stefan Karl Stefansson, 43, has passed away after battling aggressive bile duct cancer for two years.”
Meanwhile, Stefan Karl’s manager and friend Cheryl Edison told Express.co.uk: “In celebration of Stefan Karl and his contribution to the world of humour and joy of heartfelt expression that unites us all.
“The Stefan Karl Academy and Centre for the Performing Arts will launch in 2019 in Switzerland, hosted by HIAG Immobilien.”
