About Inexia:

・しかし、日経平均の上値の重さが意識されると、マザーズ指数は寄り付き後すぐにマイナスに転じ、そのままじりじりと下げ幅を拡大。
・ただし、売り込む流れにもならず871.96ptを安値に前引けにかけて切り返す展開。
・後場は主力市場、新興市場ともに一段と手掛けにくさが意識されるなか、880ptを挟んでのもみ合いとなった。
・なお、マザーズ指数は続落、売買代金は概算で685.93億円。騰落数は、値上がり203銘柄、値下がり59銘柄、変わらず8銘柄となった。

Cambridge brainpower is spearheading a €40 million play to fight neurological diseases.
Sosei Heptares, whose R & D mothership is in Cambridge, is partnering with Medicxi
- whose founding partner and chief scientist, David Grainger, operates internationally from a Cambridge base - to form two independent companies, Orexia and Inexia.
The new ventures aim to develop novel therapies based on positive modulators of the G protein-coupled receptors Orexin OX1 and OX2 for neurological diseases.
Medicxi will be investing in both companies with an aggregate amount of up to €40 million.
Orexia and Inexia will obtain a portfolio of related patents and have the rights to exploit a series of Orexin OX1 and OX2 positive modulators and products derived.
Orexia will focus on the development of oral therapies while Inexia will steer development of candidates for intranasal delivery using the Optinose Exhalation Delivery System.
Japanese owned parent company Sosei Group Corporation will retain an equity holding in both businesses
and receive R & D payments as well as further payments on the achievement of pre-defined development milestones.
The funding committed by Medicxi, will enable the further development and optimisation of lead candidates for oral or intranasal administration into clinical development
and through to proof-of-concept, utilising Sosei Heptares’ platform, discovery and clinical development expertise including extensive experience of neurological disorders.

The venture investors at Medicxi are funding a pair of biotech spinouts from UK-based Sosei Heptares,
which has been fine tuning its expertise in G protein-coupled receptors for a number of years now.
Medicxi is offering €40 million to kickstart two new companies - the twins Orexia and Inexia, which will target Orexin OX1 and OX2 for neurological diseases.
The Heptares subsidiary will put its researchers to work on the two projects, identifying narcolepsy as one key disease on the menu.
Orexins are well known targets in the biotech world. These neuropeptides are involved in the regulation of sleep, wakefulness and appetite.
Medicxi partner Francesco De Rubertis will sit on the board to watch over the firm’s investment.
Both of these groups have deep roots in the UK, with Sosei looking to build up the Heptares operation under Malcolm Weir.

When Sosei bought out U.K. biotech Heptares for $400 million four years ago, it inherited a big pipeline of G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) targeted programs-too many to take forward on its own.
Now, its spinning some of those out into two new U.K.-based biotechs that will be bankrolled in part by Anglo-Swiss venture fund Medicxi to the tune of €11 million (around $12.6 million).
The two new companies-dubbed Orexia and Inexia—have been created to advance various projects targeting the GPCR protein orexin that have grown out of Sosei Heptares’ R&D operations in Cambridge,
and specifically agonists of orexin OX1 and OX2 for neurological diseases, including narcolepsy. They will be led by Mario Alberto Accardi, Ph.D., a co-founder of U.K. medtech firm Orthonika.
In an unusual split of responsibilities, the two companies will both work on the targets but Orexia will concentrate on oral drugs while Inexia will focus on intranasal delivery using a system developed by U.S. biotech Optinose.
Inexia licensed rights to the delivery platform from Optinose for an undisclosed upfront fee plus $8 million in development milestones plus another $37 million tied to commercial targets
and royalties on any future sales. Meanwhile, parent group Sosei is keeping an equity stake in the two new companies and is in line for milestone payments as the programs progress. Orexin is thought to be involved in the regulation of various neurological parameters, including behavioral arousal, wakefulness and sleep,
and Sosei Heptares suggests that loss of orexin neurons is linked to multiple neurological conditions that could be helped by orexin agonists.
That includes narcolepsy, a disorder which causes people to abruptly and unpredictably fall asleep, as well as cataplexy which is a sudden temporary weakening of muscle tone that can cause people to collapse, it says.
Orexin is already the target of a number of R&D programs in the biopharma sector, although to date these have focused mainly on antagonists of orexin receptors.
Actelion spinout Idorsia is looking at antagonists in insomnia, for example, as are Eisai/Purdue Pharma, although another candidate from GlaxoSmithKline and Actelion was abandoned in 2011 on safety concerns.
Meanwhile, U.K. biotech C4XD has a selective OX1 antagonist in early-stage development to fight the cravings associated with tobacco, opioid analgesics and alcohol.

YARDLEY, Pa., Feb. 04, 2019 - Optinose, a pharmaceutical company focused on the development and commercialization of products for patients treated by ear, nose and throat (ENT) and allergy specialists,
today announced that it has entered into a license agreement with Inexia whereby Inexia has obtained certain rights that will enable the use of Optinose’s Exhalation Delivery Systems (EDS)
and other intellectual property in their effort to discover and develop novel therapies based on positive modulators of Orexin OX1 and OX2 for neurological diseases.
Inexia was recently formed as part of a structured financing agreement between Japan-based Sosei Group Corporation (TSE code: 4565), a company focused on GPCR medicine design and development, and Medicxi, a venture fund dedicated to financing asset-centric companies.
In exchange for this license, Optinose will receive an upfront payment and for each product developed under the license agreement is eligible to receive up to $8 million of development milestone payments and up to $37 million of sales milestone payments.
In addition, Optinose is eligible for tiered, low-to-mid single digit royalties based on net sales of any products successfully developed and commercialized under the license agreement.
Inexia will be responsible for all costs and activities related to the identification, development and commercialization of potential products under this license.
“We are pleased to be delivering on our strategic objective of engaging in external partnerships to capture value from the potential for use of our Exhalation Delivery Systems for nose-to-brain applications, which is outside of our therapeutic focus area,” said Peter Miller, CEO of Optinose.

The Heptares Therapeutics Ltd. unit of Sosei Group Corp. partnered with life sciences VC Medicxi Ventures to spin out two asset-centric newcos, Orexia Ltd. and Inexia Ltd., to develop preclinical orexin agonists to treat rare sleeping disorder narcolepsy.
Under the deal, Medicxi has committed to invest up to $45.8 million in a tranched investment across both companies, although the total investment for each was not broken out.
Each company is taking a different approach to delivery of the molecules: Orexia is developing oral small molecules, while Inexia is developing an intranasal formulation of orexin agonists using the OptiNose Exhalation delivery system.
According to Sosei EVP and Chief R&D Officer Malcolm Weir, Heptares has six internal programs either in the clinic or entering soon, with more than 12 programs at earlier stages of development.
Thus the deal with Medicxi "was a good, creative way of financing the pipeline," he said.
Both companies will operate as virtual entities and contract out work to Heptares. Heptares receives an undisclosed equity stake in both of spinouts, plus R&D payments and is eligible for undisclosed development milestones.
Mario Alberto Accardi, a life sciences VC who structured the deals on behalf of Medicxi, is CEO of both companies, while Medicxi's Francesco de Rubertis will join both boards.
To date nearly all orexin-targeting programs in development have been antagonists of orexin receptors for indications such as insomnia.
The most advanced is Belsomra suvorexant from Merck & Co. Inc., which was approved in 2014 to treat insomnia.
Takeda Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd. has the most advanced orexin receptor agonist with TAK-925, an orexin 2 receptor (OX2R; HCRTR2) agonist that is in Phase I testing for narcolepsy.
On Jan. 31, Inexia licensed the OptiNose delivery technology from OptiNose Inc. for $500,000 up front.
OptiNose is also eligible for up to $8 million in development milestones and up to $37 million in sales milestones, plus low-to-mid single digit royalties. Events update:
