あの段階じゃ成功確率なんて判らんの多すぎ。

Andreas Pluckthun continues his research where others stop: 40 employees work in his laboratory on protein engineering.
Their results form the basis for three biotech companies: Morphosys in Munich, as well as Molecular Partners and G7 Therapeutics (today Heptares Zurich) in Schlieren.
At the Antibody Congress 2017 in Basel, Andreas Pluckthun told us why he remains true to his research.
Mr. Pluckthun, you co-founded three biotech companies in three decades. How did this come about?
There was always this curiosity in the beginning to discover something - but never the wish to found a company.
After we produced artificial antibodies and learned how to mimic the immune system, we established the company Morphosys.
Then the next question arose: can we do this with other protein molecules and solve new problems?
Out of this emerged Designed Ankyrin Repeated Proteins (DARPins) and a second company, Molecular Partners in Schlieren.
The next challenge was then to stabilize receptors by means of protein engineering in order to develop better drugs for these points of attack.
Based on this research, we founded the third company, G7 Therapeutics.
Who pushed ahead with the spin-offs each time?
For the first company, it was my research colleagues. I was the more sceptical of us three at the time.
The other two companies were traditional spin-offs of my doctoral and postdoctoral students.
How are the companies doing today?
Morphosys now has 430 employees and recently celebrated its 25th anniversary.
We also received the first FDA approval for an antibody that is now available on the market.
This is one of the few companies that is still doing exactly what we once wrote in the business plan, and successfully too.
Molecular Partners has 130 employees, several Phase 2 and 3 studies, and, like Morphosys, is listed on the stock exchange.
G7 Therapeutics was sold to the British company Heptares, which in turn belongs to the Japanese company Sosei.
In short: all companies are doing well.
I don’t consider founding a company to be a particular achievement.
The achievement is more that the companies are flourishing and bringing drugs to the market.

Heptares Therapeutics is an established English biotech company with world-class technology in structure-based drug design used to develop new compounds for G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs).
We are developing our own proprietary repertoire, but we are also collaborating with major global pharmaceutical companies on new drug and antibody development programs.
The most advanced programs are currently in the clinical phase and are progressing in clinical development.
Since the beginning of 2017, Heptares has had a branch in Schlieren / ZH,
with a focus on protein engineering & structural biology and working closely with drug development departments in the UK.
For our branch in Schlieren, we are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated personality by the middle of 2018 as "biology lab technician, 70-100%".
Position:
You have a completed apprenticeship as a biology lab technician or an equivalent education with at least five years experience or a masters degree
with at least two years experience in cell culture, molecular biology and protein biochemistry.
In addition, you will be able to maintain a cell culture laboratory and provide protein replication supplies.
Experience in protein purification and optimization of conditions and constructs would be beneficial.
You will be responsible for general laboratory management and supply (for example, placing orders).
Requirements:
・Practical experience in large scale culture and protein expression in mammalian cells (HEK-293, CHO) & insect cells (Sf9, Sf21).
・Experience in the field of expression quality control by e.g. Western blot, FACS and ligand binding assays.
・Experience in protein purification (ideally membrane proteins) using FPLC systems (e.g., AKTA).
・In-depth experience in molecular biology (basic cloning and plasmid purification)
・Flexibility beyond the above to learn new techniques and processes
・Open-minded, team-able personality, who can work on various projects in a speedy, independent and service-oriented manner
・Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as good knowledge of digital documentation (MS Office)
・In addition, good language skills in German (mother tongue preferred) and English are required
・Previous industry experience is desirable, but not necessary.

そーせいグループ <4565> [東証Ｍ]が大幅反落。
13日の取引終了後、片頭痛やその他重度の頭痛に対する治療薬としてのリード候補化合物「HTL0022562」と、その他の新規低分子カルシトニン遺伝子関連ペプチド(CGRP)拮抗薬について、
グローバルで開発・販売する権利を、イスラエルのテバ・ファーファシューティカル・インダストリーズから返還されたと発表しており、これを弱材料視した売りが出たようだ。
HTL0022562は、そーせい子会社ヘプタレス・セラピューティクスが独自の構造ベース創薬プラットフォームを用いて設計した、選択性の高い有力な新規低分子CGRP拮抗薬。
テバ社では、健康成人における第1相臨床試験での初回投与を18年後半に予定していたが、テバ社による最近のポートフォリオ見直しの結果、同医薬品開発ライセンス契約を終了したという。
なお、今後はそーせいが開発を進めることになり、テバ社からの正式な権利譲渡後に、HTL0022562の第1相臨床試験の開始時期を発表するという。 これで名古屋がこの国の実質ナンバー2ということが決まりました 資料つくっただけで株価あがるわけ無いやろ

片頭痛治療薬に関するテバ社との契約が終了したため、テバ社からのマイルストーンなどの予想を除外し、中長期の利益予想を見直し。
それによりフェアバリューを引き下げ。しばらく自社で開発を進め、より価値を高めた上で製薬会社へ導出するなどの新たなシナリオも考えられるが、現時点では保守的に見るとした。
来19.3期および20.3期の業績予想を下方修正。

Company Description:
Heptares Therapeutics is an established UK biotech company with world-class technology in structure-based drug design applied to discovery of novel small molecules acting through G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs).
The company is developing its own pipeline of proprietary molecules, and works in collaboration with major global pharmaceutical companies on both small molecule and antibody discovery programmes.
The most advanced of these are now in clinical studies with others moving towards clinical development.
In 2017 Heptares established a new subsidiary in Schlieren/Zurich (Switzerland) with a focus on protein engineering and structure-based drug design,
which is in close interaction with the drug design and development units in the UK.
Position:
By mid-2018, we are seeking for our site in Schlieren/Zurich (Switzerland) an enthusiastic and motivated laboratory technician (70-100%).
Candidates should have training as a lab technician with at least five years of experience or a Master’s degree with at least two years of experience in cell culture, molecular biology and protein biochemistry.
Furthermore, applicants should be able to maintain a cell culture lab and manage protein expression logistics.
Experience in protein purification and optimization of conditions/constructs would be an advantage.
In addition, the successful applicant would be responsible for general lab management and maintenance (e.g. ordering from suppliers).
