バンクシーの絵画、１４０万ドルで落札された直後に「自滅」する
覆面画家バンクシーの最も有名な作品の一つ「赤い風船に手を伸ばす少女」が、
ロンドンのオークションハウス「サザビーズ」で落札された直後に「自滅」した。デイリー・ミラー紙が報じた。
デイリー・ミラー紙によると、バンクシーは２００６年にアクリルでキャンバスに「赤い風船に手を伸ばす少女」を１枚だけ描いた。
作品は、金メッキが施された重い額に入れられていたが、そこにはシュレッダーが内蔵されていたことがわかった。
「赤い風船に手を伸ばす少女」の落札予想価格は約２５万ドル〜４０万ドルだったが、１４０万ドルで落札された。
そして落札直後、額の中のシュレッダーがオンになり、バンクシーの絵画は細かく裁断された。

サザビーズは落札者と連絡を取った。落札者は「驚いていた」という。現在、今後について話し合いが行われている。
オークションの規則によると、落札者は作品が損傷した場合は拒否する権利がある。一方、シュレッダーによって作品の価格が上昇する可能性もある。
